This movie got real boring real fast. It also had bad acting, crappy script and it did not even stay true to the book.Only good thing about this movie was it was short.Don't even bother to rent this movie. The only reason I rented it was because there was nothing else at the store to rent. Overall, this movie was shit. This movie gets a 2/10.

Middle of the road.

Tom And Huck

What really disappointed me was that it wasn't even close that much to the book itself, but it was a good movie, anyways. If you did read the book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, you can really tell what was changed and what was left out, so it kind of ruined the illusion of reading the book and seeing the movie to see it AS a movie.

The story line when you do watch the parts from the book, when Tom and Huck chase after a murder and into other mysteries, but it was just discouraging when you try do watch the scenes that are resembling the book, there are the small parts that aren't related to the book which makes you just forget the book itself and to just watch the movie, which makes the movie better, anyways.

The acting was fantastic. They really did a good job finding people to fit the characters, such as Tom, Huck, and Becky, exactly. One thing that seemed kind of odd was Aunt Polly, who was really not what people around me had in mind when we did watch the movie. So, this tells you that the character was one of the things that they really stuck to when it came to the movie, which was one of the good points.

It was a good movie, but it is just not one of those movies that you would want to have at home. I really sort of criticized the movie itself for not sticking to the book, but I also said that if you did not focus on the book and comparing it to the movie, it was a good movie, which is why it is a good recommendation to see as a movie as itself, but not to see it after reading the book.

An okay Disney live action movie but not truly memorable or special.
good movie to watch one of the few that stared the late brad renfro who past away not to long ago

Tom and Huck (1995)

I never understood the hype at all with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. He was an annoying child actor to me. Despite that, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is one of my all-time favorite books and this movie is fairly faithful to the book so I still enjoy this movie despite its casting.
This version of the classic novel by Mark Twain makes a nice little movie, but fails to capture the humorous spirit of the book. Many hilarious scenes are missing and the writers have taken too many liberties with the plot. Jonathan Taylor Thomas is wonderful as Tom Sawyer. Unfortunately his charm does not last until the end of the movie, but seems to fade after a while. Brad Renfro is a fantastic actor (his performance is the best thing about this film) and he manages to give Huck Finn many tragic and deep aspects. Unfortunately Mark Twain's Huck Finn is neither tragic or deep. Despite the many sugar-coated scenes and the fact that both Tom and Huck are a bit out-of-character, this movie is still something worth seeing. Injun Joe and Muff Potter are both realistic and Rachael Leigh Cook makes a brilliant and not-so-girly Becky Thatcher! The sets and wardrobe look very authentic, but they alone are not enough to bring the evergreen story wholly alive.
The story is somewhat faithful to the book in terms of continuity but the actors interpretations of the characters is just plain awful.

I really like the book so I am pretty bias.
