I love this movie... one of my favorites...
Drama - Based on the true story. The 1st African-American to serve as a US Navy diver. Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding Jr. star in this underdog/against all odds story that teaches perserverance pays off. Great acting, script, and excellent story! 9.8/10
Just saw.
Being John Malkovich.. just awesome!
Cliched, yet compelling.
Action / War / Drama
The start of De Niro's seemingly unstoppable descent into mediocre movie hell. As for Cuba Gooding, well, he just mugs his way through it, as expected. It's a terrible shame that his high point was his first movie, Boyz N The Hood.

Anyway, to the movie. It's exactly what you'd expect from reading a 2 line plot summary, but somehow more trite, boring and by-the-numbers than it sounds. Possibly the best example of the worst kind of American movie trash. Please don't see it.
review to come
Men of Honor
It was a cute movie. Very predictable, but inspirational and I'm a sucker for those sorts of movies. It was better than I expected.

I'll be seeing the Da Vinci Code on Monday. My expectations have been lowered considerably because of all the crummy reviews. If I don't enjoy it, it'll be okay, because me and my friend are going and we'll have a good time regardless. This weekend is a long weekend in Canada, so that's pretty cool.

We finally got to run through our scene in Drama class. It took me getting very bitchy before we were able to. Our teacher was going to forget about us (again), so I got very vocal and encouraged my group mates to do so as well. They did, and we got to do it. I'm thankful. The fact that the concert is on Wednesday is pissing me off. It was supposed to be on June 9th, but then all of a sudden it was moved up and we still aren't prepared. And my teacher gets angry at us because we're not ready. It isn't totally our faults (although some people just aren't trying to memorize their lines), we don't have enough time to get ready. But I think I've spent enough time bitching about my Drama class.

Maybe I'll go for a walk today. Not like I have much to do this afternoon. It may be nice to get out of the house, even if it is by myself. I think I will do that.
