Love this movie
I love this movie. It's funny as can be.
I love this movie its one of my favorites to WATCH ... And did you know that Major Payne is a 1995 comedy film, starring Damon Wayans. The film is a loose remake of the 1955 film The Private War of Major Benson, starring Charlton Heston.
Funny movie
Comments pending.
Major Payne is a goofy movie. I have seen it before but decided to watch it again considering I bought it. It is a funny movie about a guy who is in the army and kills people and has killing on the brain and then has to play JROTC commander. It is a funny movie.

Major Payne (1995)

I absolutely loved this movie in theaters when it first came out. Of course I was only 11 at the time. I can count the number of movies I've seen more than once on one hand and this is one of them. I saw this three times in theaters when it came out and if I had my way I'd have probably seen it 10 more times. This movie now just holds a nostalgic value to me. While still good it's not quite the same anymore. I still really like it though. Damon Wayans is just flat-out funny as Major Payne.
Major fun, harmless comedy, feels good, very enjoyable performance by Damon Wyans. It is totally predictable but has a very engaging cast. I enjoyed it very much, it made me laugh.

Major Benson Winifred Payne participates in special task forces in the United States military. However, when it comes time for promotion Payne is passed over for the second time in his career, which leads to his dismissal from the military. Payne struggles with life as a civilian. His former sergeant sets Payne up with an R.O.T.C. program. Payne finds the biggest group of misfits he has ever laid eyes on. Working with these misfits to win the end of year military games may cause Payne to solve both their and his own shortcomings.

"I'm sorry Mr. Handicap man; I didn't mean to offend you. Do you speak sign, can you read lips? If you don't answer me when I speak to you, I'm gonna stick my foot in your ass. Is that clear dummy?"

Nick Castle, director of Dennis the Menace, Tap, and the Last Starfighter, directs Major Payne. Castle utilizes Wayans brilliantly. This film is by far my favorite Damon Wayans lead character role. The setting and scenarios you find both Payne and the kids in are hilarious. Many portions of the film are clever, witty, and hilarious. The development of the characters is better then expected. There are also a nice variety of characters in a Goonies kind of way.

"I said hold it or I'll break it off and kick it around on the ground."

The soundtrack of this film was very good. Damon Wayans voice was hilarious and not over done. The sequence when Payne first meets his cadets is my favorite scene. I also enjoyed the cafeteria scene, police officer scenario, hired muscle scene, little engine that could story, bad man in the closet sequence, stepfather scene, day dreaming at the train station, and any sequence where Payne leads the cadence.

"You want me to show you a little trick to take your mind off that arm? Give me your hand; you might feel a little pressure."

This was a must have film for my DVD collection. After In Living Color and I'm Gonna Git you Sucka this is my favorite Damon Wayans performance. This was a film that pleasantly surprised me when it was initially released, and I still love as an adult. This is one of those rare "fun for all ages" films. That phrase gets thrown around a lot, but this film truly oozes with great content. Yes, the end turns into a cheese fest for kids, but as a whole this is a funny film with content children will love, and comments only adults will understand.

"I can clean your colon quicker then one of those burritos with extra guacamole sauce."

Grade: A-
'Major Payne' is a film about a major who makes life a living Hell for his small group of boys in the marines. This film does not really have a lot to offer, but it provides several hilarious moments that are well-worth a watch. Don't expect it to be a memorable film, however. Just expect to laugh your way through the film and at the expense of other people. The confrontation between Major Payne and the chubby boy were hilarious, and that's really all I remember about the film except for the boys wanting revenge on Major Payne. Again, it is not a great film, and it is probably best watched on a rainy day when you need some laughter.
Major Payne (1995): 4/10

This is one of my personal favorites. The movie stars Damon wayans as Vincent Winniferd Payne, a Major who is forced to teach kids at a military school, the problem is he isn't exactly easy on the kids. He makes his troops do all sorts of exercises that are insane, on one occasion he pulls out a grenade and threatens to blow everybody up if they don't make it through the course in time leading to a great quote " It's just a dummy grenade", Major Payne throws the greande and it blows up "Who's the dummy now?".

The movie is a comedy about a man who has to learn to be sensitive after he is kicked out of the army. The movie has many laughs that range from funny to hysterical, it is a movie about working for what you want even if it involves lots of training. The movie is good if you like comedies.

Do you ever feel like you are reviewing the same movie twice? This movie had nearly all the strengths and weaknessess of Heavyweights (which I just reviewed), but it's a tiiiiny bit funnier, bumping it up to the average category. Truthfully, I can tolerate watching this because there are enough good laughs.

It's horrible. I remember it being bad but after watching parts of it again, I didn't remember it being this bad.
In slaptick scenes, Damon Wayans has numerous humorous moments, but Major Payne is a pain to watch as it is both unfunny and forgettable.

Major Payne
I was expecting a lot more from this movie. I don't think I found myself even chuckling once. There was horrible acting the entire movie and Major Payne made this a painful movie to watch. I am mad at myself for watching this entire movie. I couldn't stand the attempts at being funny which always fell way short. I would tell you that it would be a movie kids should watch, but there was so much cussing that they couldn't. Don't waste your time watching this.
As a whole Major Payne was one of the funniest movies I've ever watched. The ingredients for this movie to be side splitting hilarious were perfect. Damon Wayans did an excellent job as Major Payne. He could have done spin-offs from that character alone. Then you add the kids; and it wasn't so much the kids as it was how he treated them. You come to expect a certain level of delicacy when handling kids even if they are the most spoiled, bratty, destructive kids alive. Major Payne took an unexpected approach by putting those kids through hell. He berated them verbally and physically. There was no political correctness employed at all in this movie. I enjoyed this movie thoroughly.
Major Payne is a very Pedestrian comedy with only a few laughs. The film isn't very strong not worth a rental or even a watch on T.V. Not worth your time. Overall 31/100:rotten:
