Lady and the Tramp, one of my favourite childhood movies, goes down as a classic animation and one that I am sure is enjoyed by children today. Who doesn't like watching cute animals with large, kind eyes? Lady and the Tramp is about love and sacrifice, bringing together a posh female dog with a homeless stray, who is sexy in his own right. Also included are the memorable Siamese trouble-making cats (Peggy Lee) and the wonderful candle-lit scene where are loveable heros enjoy spaghetti. This film should be enjoyed and treasured for years to come.
Haven't seen Nightmare before Christmas all the way thro' so wasn't sure what I was expecting from Corpse Bride but I had heard good things. Have to say tho' it was disapointing. A few laughs here and there but nothing special. With Wallace & Gromit still fresh in the memory, this didn't live up to anywhere near that level.

Lady and the Tramp on the other hand was harmless old fashioned fun from Disney, exactly what one would expect.

Lady and the Tramp (1955): 8/10

So what is it about the tale of a pampered cocker spaniel and a streetwise mutt that makes for such a charming and wonderful movie? I'm not really sure, but I know I love this movie. Lady and the Tramp is one of the best movies to come out of Disney studios, and I am grateful that it is finally on DVD.

While watching it, I was amazed to see how emotionally involved I was with the characters. I know that the movie does have a standard romantic story about a relationship forming between two opposites, but the movie is so enchanting it is near impossible to hate the film.

I did have a few problems with some of the stereotypes presented in the film, but I can let that slide. It isn't that they are completely offensive, but rather awkward. But in the end, all of the characters work so well together, they bring so much life to this simple story.

I'm sorry I can't think of much to say about this movie. I do love it, it's just that the movie is so perfect in its simplicity, that it is hard to write a lengthy review. This is still a movie worth owning for those who love great animated movies.
Actually one of the most romantic animated films of all-time. C
