I really don't know why people hated this movie. I really liked it and I found myself literally laughing out loud at some parts. Now, it definitely caters to an older crowd, dealing with issues of marriage/divorce/moving on, etc, but as someone who is 22, I really liked it. I'm a huge Steve Martin fan and he is absolutely adorable in this movie. Alec and Meryl are great too but John Krasinski steals the show in the scenes that he is in too. Pretty good flick, worth a watch.
Wow - I can't get over how much I loved this! Great performance by all the actors, especially Meryl Streep. Such a fantastic and fun comedy.
this film was appalling and an embarrassment for almost everyone involved. meryl streep is too good for this calibre of film and to be honest it let her down, she came across as a giggling air-head. alec baldwin plays himself, and to some comic effect but this is far from his best outing. steve martin can do no wrong, but then again he didn t really do much in this film but get high and look awesome. the only redeeming part of this film was john krasinski as streep s son in law. he was great.
This is a real light-hearted, LMAO film. Enjoyed it very much.
This movie is HILARIOUS! I enjoyed it a lot and my friend and I are constantly quoting Meryl Streep and Steve Martin's lines from this film.
It's Complicated (C+)
A tremendous cast: Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin make up the nouveau chic California love triangle that lies at the heart of this story. Streep and Baldwin are divorced but pulled back together thru family gatherings only to discover the spark has not extinguished between them as they rekindle a brand new, torrid affair on the side. Adding to the perplexity is Martin's character, the good guy architect who she also has feelings for. Let the revolving door of romance begin!

Baldwin is 30 Rock funny as the oversexed x trying to get back in with Streep and she does a better than average job of looking flustered and horny. Martin on the other hand looks like he's some kind of lumber byproduct made of wood shavings and glue, not to mention the fact that he's obviously had more plastic surgery than Joan Rivers. It's very off putting.

The story was cute although probably more of a vignette than a full length feature and if they didn't have the star power they brought to the film, it very easily could have been awful. It's cute(ish) and well acted, except for Martin who seems completely lost throughout the movie.
A lovely winter warmer - laughed out loud many many times. Not sure about the casting of Steve Martin didnt quite feel the chemistry there plus kept expecting (hoping) for him to fall over in his usual comedy goofballness.
Streep and Baldwin were outstanding as were the supporting 'children and son in law'
Also made a nice change to see rom com where the main characters were the same age !!
I can't believe the low rating that was given to this movie. I loved it and everyone I talked to loved it. Great character development. I have seen it twice and I will probably buy this movie, it was light and funny yet "complicated". Great movie! I highly recommend it.

Light and breezy and good for a few laughs. Baldwin is delightful and the standout in this big-name cast. The great Streep hams it up too much -- for most of the movie she seems to be reprising her role in Mamma Mia. And Steve Martin seems underused.
