I loved watching this movie whenever it appeared on tv. It was my favorite Halloween Flick to watch other than the Halloween horror series.
Classic! Check this one if you haven't seen it.
A great movie and worth the watch. Great story line, good acting and both adults and kids will enjoy it.
The BEST Halloween movie ever and my favorite. Bette Midler was perfect in this.
brilliant movie, watched it always near halloween, and its near halloween again :)
This is one of the greatest kids movie ever. I wish they had this around when I was a child!

While going through the normally shitty $9.99 DVD piles at Sam Goody, I came across a copy of the Witch comedy, Hocus Pocus. I loved this movie when I was younger so I picked it up and watched it again. It hasn't escaped the last 11 years completely unscathed by time, but I still think it's a cute, goofy, and mostly harmless little movie aimed right at kids, but funny enough to keep adults entertained. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Nijimy are awsome as the witches and obviously have a great time making the movie. Plus, if that's not enough, this movie contains some of Pixar's earliest CGI work and a young Thora Birch. Check it out!

"The Forbidden Dance is Lambada"
This movie is about an indian princess named Nisa who goes to Los Angeles to save her home, the amazon rain forest, from being burned down and destroyed by the Petramco Corp.. Nisa gets a job as a maid and meets a boy named Jason. She quits her job and goes to work at a club where there's prostetution involved. Jason finds her and saves her from the club. She then teaches him the Lambada to enter a dance conpetition wich will be live on television that way she would make the anouncement to every home watching the show to boycott the company. It's not a bad movie but it's not a great movie also. It's still very good, i'll give it a 7/10.

Hocus Pocus is a bit of fun, but it seems as thought they had a lot more fun making it than we do watching it. Midler deserves much better, though she does have a lot of fun here, hamming it up, acting silly and getting much deserved laughs. She, Parker and Najimy play the Sanderson sisters, a trio of witches who, in the 1600s, were hung, but cast a spell on a candle that, when lit by a virgin, would bring them back to life. Why would anyone light this candle? Why would the candle be kept around? Why are there always cheerfully-scored bike riding scenes in all live action Disney films? Why has Thora Birch, who was a terrible young actress, not improved much? Yes, it's all so very funny, watching these three women make fools of themselves, but it all adds up to zilch when one tries to identify with a single one of the characters. It's also a bit too scary for younger kids. For Alex and I, though, it's a nice way to pass the time and chain smoke. ** (out of ****) C
Cheesy? Sure. But "Hocus Pocus" is great fun for the whole family.
Hocus Pocus - An average movie with some good parts and some bad. It really shows the difference between kids movies from 10-12 years ago and today where the movies had depth, and are interesting characters. This movie didn't really have any of those things.

Chinatown - I admit I was disappointed in the ending. I sat through the first 30 minutes and they kinda set up what I thought was going to be a very interesting story, but as the movie went along the story got spaced out further and further and it really never achieved the story I thought it was getting closer and closer to being.

Donnie Darko - Wow...If my wife would have been able to stay up with this I would have known so much more before the ending, but she was sleeping while I watched it...It was a very good movie, I liked the twists and I enjoyed the whole story. I'm still a little shaken from the ending although.
This movie is the perfect one for Halloween. It has just the right amount of suspense and comedy, to make it a more worthy film for watching than any of the Halloween stories. Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica, and Bette Midler never cease to make me laugh year after year, their comedic timing cannot be rivaled in this movie, and I hope watching it becomes a tradition for generations to come.
Hocus Pocus is a great Halloween movie. The cast of the Sanderson sisters is great!!! They are hilarious AND scary!!!!!! I own the movie, but always watch it when its on the Disney channel. Its a fun family movie!!!!!!! I love it
