3/10... just for the special effect... so, a spaceship travel light years to earth to get punched by a wreck?
Good movie 8.5/10
love the movies with a badass main character
idk how you guys don't see this board game in the movie, the Pinging part was a great way for them to see where their enemies were without using the sonar/radar for whoever said that was a stupid part. it was borderline genius. its also similar to the board game as in when they shot, they do not know if they are going to hit or miss, first few time is a miss, the hit, hit hit. it may not be two people sitting at a table playing the board game, but this movie was not hard at all the see the similarity. especially when they have the grid on screen over the booeys(sp?) idk how much close they could have made it look like they were playing battleship..........................................
@Sunstroker The Pinging part, when they called out locations of where it might be. Probably the dumbest part of the whole movie. That Hawaiian girl that ran the Quikmart was hilarious!
did anyone notice the ship doing wheelie and similar type of stuff?
loved this one..big budget films like this are what i live for..9/10
Cool movie.. Very Enjoyable! 7/10
The only real head-scratcher about this movie for me is that, in the credits, it says that it is based on the board game by Hasbro. Now, I've played that game a hundred or so times as a kid, and I have no idea what part of this movies is supposedly based on the game. Aside from the title, they have nothing at all in common with each other.
Good computer generated imagery movie. They don't let me write short.
There are only a handful of movies that I consider good enough to entice me to watch a second time, and this one drew me back in. It's just entertainment and I enjoyed it. Considering the length, that is hard to do normally.
Quite likely the most expensive B movie ever made. With some A-list actors in it to boot. I imagine Liam Neeson must have had fun with this one. Insanely stupid and cheesy at times - well, a lot of the time, yet it continues to draw you in when you're just about ready to give up on it, and even makes you go "he** yeah!" at times. "We don't have anyone to operate this ship, sir. It's 70 years old." "Oh yes, we do!" Great popcorn entertainment, if you just take it on face value.
I watched this one over a year ago and really enjoyed it for what it is. I will most likely watch it again. The last part of it really makes the cut!
tis movie is yoyo
Constantly skipping while watching it.. ends with a close button.
Good C.G.I, bit predictable, 130mins of pure entertainment..... 8/10
a great movie
I must my initial reaction to this movie was pretty bad, in fact i nearly gave it a miss, well surprisingly I am glad i didn't.
Yes, it is quite cheesy in parts but it does keep you entertained and the CGI's are pretty good, very similar in idea to "Cowboys and Aliens" which by the way I enjoyed too. Now, neither of these movies would win a Palme d'Or at Cannes festivals, but it does the job and it's fun, now a warning, it might lower you IQ a bit but who cares....6/10. Tks to linkers.
good movie.
Love sci-fi but seen it all? Kinda bored on a rainy day off?
7/10 because it's junk, but it'll do the job just fine.
Always love a good Navy movie, being a Navy veteran. I gave it a 10/10. I loved it when the old salty dogs had to be the ones to fire up the boilers. I don't think anything was 'turn key' on those bad boys. Sure brought back some memories. RIP Petty Officer Sears, a shipmate not forgotten.
