a witty film. I loved Jane's part. Great actor and great movie too.
This used to be one of my favorite shows, simply because of Jane's charismatic, chaotic, simplistic, yet brilliant way of doing things... and of course, Red John, who for the first five seasons was one of the greatest TV villains in my opinion.

Sadly, it has since come to light that the creator never had any vision or plan for the main story arc, making it up as he went along, and deciding the identity of Jane's enigmatic, sadistic, and diabolically manipulative arch-nemesis just a few months in advance of the reveal. That too could have been fine if it was done well, but in the end, after years of searching for this serial killer mastermind, it comes down to one of the weakest most cliche scenes in TV history, and the brilliant mental game PJ and RJ had been playing devolves into a pathetically trite action sequence with an amount of running around that even Tom Cruise would raise an eyebrow to.

For the first five seasons, I would rate The Mentalist a solid 8.5 But for these reasons and the nonsense season of Will They/Won't They that followed, I have to slice it down to a 5.5

A brilliant series ruined by Bruno Heller's lack of foresight, and his hubris that he could BS a villain up to the very end and everyone would be happy.
Ok it was the ending. It was a good one, very good. Was just hoping for more. Would never get tired of watching Patrick Jane and the others in action. A quite one of a kind show.
