Hello fellow Solarians,
I felt its needed to do a blog so that everyone can read and know what is going on. As you all know, for a few months there had been issues with imarobot randomly muting users for no reason. We had found that randomly chosen (some more than others) who comment/reply with 200+ characters got muted. It took admins time but they found the root to the problem.
This will be rectified at the end of the week if not a bit later.
So for those that have stopped commenting because your afraid to get muted by imarobot need not worry. You will be able to comment till your hearts content. Sooner than never right?
V 1.0. So it must be Sunday for most of you. When it comes to Wednesday and you still find that you or another user are getting muted for no reason, bring it to my attention via private message and I'll have a look at it.
Lately Solarmovie has been plagued by the epidemic of people spoiling episodes / movies on the review comment page and I feel this needs to be addressed, please be aware that this is against the [https://www.solarmovie.is/rule...] and such activity will warrant a mute / ban depending on the severity of the spoiler! It does not matter even if you place SPOILER at the top of your review to warn people, it is forbidden and against the rules. A warning will only be Issued ONCE, if you continue to spoil a Mute / Ban could be enforced. Some small talk is ok, but mostly it is for reviews only, if you wish to talk deep details about episodes / movies please take it to the forum, as such talk is not prohibited there..
If you would like to know what constitutes as a Spoiler, See Below:
Thank you for understanding... SparkyKarl.
Please add links to TV SHOWS via TV SHOWS FORM not MOVIE FORM.
And fill ALL fields which are there with VALID data.
Those who fail to understand this simple requirement will be punished. Linkers will be demoted then banned, non-likers will be banned right away.
PS. those who do not receive notifications for new movies and episodes and see some movies "broken" or episodes missing can thank those beautiful uploaders that cannot fill forms properly.
OK...I finished the movie start to finish. If you you'd like a short answer on whether this is worth watching here it is...RUN, for gods sakes RUN away for this movie.
tracked down the trailer for it /watch?v=D_2mhJFpAWY. ...and here is a more in depth review. So, where do we start, let's start with the good things in this film. Now that we're done listing the good things let's list the bad things.
1. The audio is sometimes missing or edited badly, which is not a problem with the file. It is actually on the finished product.
2. The audio is straight from the camera itself which is horrible quality, and has that background hum all the way through. Can barely hear the people talk, and one time the blond guy is using his headset mic and mouth and nose breaths into it.
3. The video itself is poorly shot. Heads are not in frame, camera is shaky beyond all belief. They do use a tripod at some point but that isn't even lined up well.
4. The editing is soooo bad. (yes I know he's supposed to be living the same day) This repeated way too much to a point where you don't know what's going on.
5. The concept...He starts by waking up in bed for a couple days, then he keeps waking up in the office, and why did the filing cabinet between the desks disappear halfway through.
6. All the death scenes were ridiculous, and after your co-worker kills you the first time, you wouldn't acting like nothing happened.
7. IMDB says this was a $10,000...I call BS...even the worst high school films I've had to watch were better than this, and cost nothing.
I could say so much more about this, but don't feel like wasting anymore time than I have for this movie, and now writing this. If you know anyone trying to get into film are learn about it. Show them this film in it's entirety, and they will always make sure they hold themselves to a higher standard. Even a student no budget film should rather take an F than even hand this in expecting anything more than an F, and if this is what a student would produce, they need to talk to the guidance counselor and switch classes. This is getting scored with a 0
At it's base this is a rom-com. But this is what a rom-com now should be. Fully realized idiosyncratic characters, weird conflict and Bill Murray.
This was a delight. Emma Stone shines bright, I'm a BRadley fan so there's that. I think the big surprise was John Krasinski, never cared, no I do.
Good stuff and that last scene? Ugly cry.
I'm gonna be honest and say that reading the comments I thought, "Ok... PASS!"
...But then I saw the trailer, and although it looks COMPLETELY nonsensical, illogical, and incoherent... I'm going to say it really, Really, REALLY caught my attention. In my mind it reminds me of a movie I saw back in the day when I was a little "altered" called Beowulf (1999) with Christopher Lambert. Let me tell you that flick was equally illogical and fantastical... but also one of the best "bro time" movies I've ever seen. You know the ones! The ones that you know the discerning movie viewer will gag at the site of the trailer, movies that YOU KNOW will never be up for any type of Oscar worthy attention, but nevertheless you personally LOVE with all its cheesy moments... Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY has one of those movies they hold dear to their heart and at the same time they know if someone other then their closest buddy knew they liked that movie they would be quick to make fun of it as to not themselves be the object of ridicule.
Whew!... good thing nobody knows who I actually am...
At first, I really didn't think I'd like this movie, but then it got a lot better. When his sister finally spoke, it was brilliant. Scarlett Johansson played a rotten soul, and I despised her character.
ditch that wife. she says "no, not like that" in the bedroom. her personality sucks. i'd go behind her back too. stupid Cersei Lannister...
... and the movie is pretty long. but a nice look at corruption from the point of view of the perpetrator. someone who isn't a bad guy caves under pressure, high standards, and temptations. movie shows how he gets implicated and becomes one of the corrupt.
