There is only three old western cowboy movies I consider excellent 1. Young Guns 2. Tombstone and 3. Young Guns 2.
How long has it been since you saw Young Guns? I watched it a while back for the first time all the way through. It has a great trashy, unrepentantly 80s quality. The acting is all you would want, nothing less nothing more. It's fun, nothing ground breaking. I think there were a few more heated conversations about getting out of town than needed. There are a few moments that will leave you shaking your head with dismay if you dont recall the 80s or are not a fan of 80s cinema or you dont refer to Charlie as Ma-Sheen.

On a personal note, I am going to have my vacation dates nailed down in the next 24 hours. The best news is that with the wisdom teeth, I am going to probably still be getting paid thanks to my sick days. I get a half day a month. So at the beginning of April I will have 4.5 and at the end of the month, an even five. Wait, I thought 5 was an odd number???? Anyways I will be using probably just 3 of those, since thats as far as I think I can stretch it. But I was only going to miss 5 days to begin with. The rest are my days off from two pay periods. So that will be pretty sweeeeet. Gotta get my VACA on before the summer when I will be trapped in AK, tied to the front desk. But it sounds like there will be a lot of family coming to visit over the course of the summer. Should be fun.

Come on boys, Potato's in the paddy wagon
Well I bought three more dvd's. One was a blind buy. Anyways I bought Young Guns, Hollywood Homicide and Seabiscuit. I've seen the other two and liked them both but I have yet to watch Seabiscuit.

hey, postin' my first entry. just joined rotten tomatoes. my friend's joining soon, too. some of my favorite movies are 'the shining', 'the sixth sense', 'sling blade', 'what's eating gilbert grape', 'the outsiders', 'drugstore cowboy', 'best in show', the tv edit of 'there's something about mary', 'meet the parents', stephen king flicks, s.e. hinton novel-to-movie productions, and a bunch of 80's movies. i was born in the nineties, but am a big fan of the late 70's thru the early 90's. movies are getting so generic... make em like they used to!

review young guns (1988) (R) // last night i stayed up late to watch 'young guns' starring emilio estevez as billy the kid. also in the cast were some big names like charlie sheen (estevez's brother) and keifer sutherland. i might have gotten into the story a little more, but emilio just didn't cut it. i mean, i love him, but billy the kid? you're kidding me. every time i looked at him i laughed. he's been in too many movies like 'the breakfast club' to be taken seriously in a role like that, in my opinion. he has the exact same little laugh he has in every other movie he's made, except add it to shooting people instead of after a joke. not bad though. i enjoyed it and i've seen a whole lot worse.

PLOT- 1878 in New Mexico: John Tunstall picks up young gun men from the road to have them work on his ranch, but also to teach them reading and to civilize them. However he's a thorn in the side of the rich rancher Murphy, as he's a competitor in selling cattle. One day he's shot by Murphy's men. Judge Wilson can't do anything, since Sheriff Brady is one of Murphy's men. But attorney Alex persuades him to constitute Tunstall's young friends to Deputies and give them warrants of arrest for the murderers. Instead of arresting them, William Bonney just shoots them down. Soon the 5 guys become famous and William gets the name "Billie the Kid" - but they're also chased by dozens of Murphy's men and the army. The people however honor him as fighter for justice.

THOUGHTS- I like 80's music as much as the next guy, but It deosn't belong in Westerns, thats pritty much why I only got a 4.5. But it had Emilio, Kiefer, & Charlie. sweeeeeeeeet.
