This is really is pretty epic i like to give foreign horror/sci fi movies a chance & this movie in part is the reason i do that i was hyped for this one when came out and blown away when finally watched just has alot going for it great special effects & Very imaginative though has roots in reality The film was in part inspired by an incident in 2000 in which a korean mortician working for the U.S. military in Seoul dumped a large amount of formaldehyde down the drain. In addition to its environmental concerns, this has added some antagonism against the United States the American military situated in South korea is portrayed as uncaring about the effects their activities have on the locals. The chemical agent used by the American military to combat the monster in the end, named "Agent Yellow" in a thinly-veiled reference to Agent Orange.
I've always loved this movie. I liked it with subtitles the best though. It's an epic film.
