whats up with the sound is it ment to be like that

Sylvester Stalone is a very good actor, and a very good director. This movie right here is good.

Rocky Balboa is a movie to bring Stallone back to the glory days and to make a quick buck. Stallone overs a sub par performance, not nearly as passionate in this role as he was in the first Rocky. The movie is very boring and so predictable it is ridiculous. You knew Paulie would come back, he would be old and "wise", and that he would deliver a great match and become a hero again. There is no new material presented that has not already been in the past Rockys. It is a long soap opera movie and very boring all the way up to the fight and the montage. Overall, Rocky Balboa is very boring and not fun to watch, which I look for in a Rocky movie.
On a whim I searched out this old RT journal, and here we are! Something else to divert valuable time. I'll add more capsule reviews when I have the time.

We've been getting out of the dungeon for some movies projected in the back yard. Magnificent outdoor adventures with a 9x16 foot screen!

Though the rating in the right-hand column says I rated Rocky Balboa a 10 out of 10, I'd actually rate it a 7/10. Very good, yet familiar, heart strings pulled. Good performances and locations. Yo, Rock.
"Rocky is in his prime for the first time in years!"
OK,I have to admit having a soft spot for the Italian stallion, and with this 6th entry in a very profitable franchise Stallone has brought Rocky full circle and although the premise is preposterous, it manages to bring back the same feelings the original inspired 30 years ago.....GO ROCKY!!!!
A liiiiiiittle slow at times, but a really touching movie that was a great end to my favorite series of movies. There is one scene where Rocky confronts his son, who is tired of living under his father's shadow, that is especially touching and one of the most powerful moments in the whole series.

If you like the series at all, you need to watch Rocky Balboa. It'll put hair on your chest.
Didn't like it that much. But a way better ending to the Rocky series than Rocky V.
The best Rocky film since the first Rocky movie.
Not te best sequel, but its a great improvement to Rocky 5, Stallone made a dazzling job with the story, but please do not make another sequel.
