:fresh: Drew Barrymore is convincing in her portrayal of a controlling mother...the storyline was interesting and kept me captivated :)
I love this film
It rocks :D
.....
I could watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it. It's like Clueless in that element. I'm not a big Drew Barrymore fan, but this movie is one of her best. She manages to be anywhere from 15 to 35 in the span of an hour and a half. And be semi-believable. The story itself is kind of blah, but the witty dialogue and the overall "men suck" attitude is great. I was almost tempted to go buy the book on which it's based, but I stopped myself. I'm not really into reading about the overly dramatic lives of others. Mine is hard enough. :) In any case, this movie has its hilarity, but it also has some very important serious moments. All in all, it's very watchable - and re-watchable.

reviews coming soon.
Wayne's World,
Wayne's World,
Rock on,
Excellent.

I want my own cable TV show. Or a radio show, whatever.

I previewed another song from McFly's new album, this one is amazing. It's not a usual band type song, it's an orchestral epic number. I love it. I think it will be the first one I listen to when I buy the album. In the clip, it's only Tom singing, and I can't really picture Danny singing it, but we'll see. Anyway, it's so amazing because it really shows off his voice man. I got chills.

If you want to hear it, you can go to www.mcflyofficial.com but you have to sign up to be a V.I.P member.

This is the band explaining about the songs, and then lyrics that I wrote down from the clip I heard.

---

Harry: Epic is the word.
Tom: This was written over a year ago -- and along with 'All About You' it was one of the first songs I wrote on the piano I got for the house. Over time it took on a life of its own. It's about a girl who commits suicide -- when she falls asleep it's because she's, well...
Dougie: Killed herself.
Tom: Yes. The song tells the story of her phoning her best friend up on the phone -- he doesn't know what to say to help her, so he races round to her house to sort her out but by the time he gets there she's already dead. Originally the song was going to have drums and guitars coming in halfway through, but in the end we decided it should be all orchestra and piano. I'm a big fan of John Williams, and the introduction is very inspired by him.

Climbing the stairs, unaware that she's hurting,

Bad and lying very still on the floor by the door

But it's luck, and she was hoping,

You would come back for more

But it's too late,

To realise you've made mistakes

She falls asleep and all she thinks about is you

She falls asleep and all she dreams about is you

When she's asleep the air she's breathing is for you

And why she wants to live,

She's not got that much more to give...

It's the line "You would come back for more."
I can't wait to hear the rest of it.

P.S. John Williams composed the theme tune to Star Wars. So we all know he's great.
WELL, NOT SURE WHY THIS IS NOT THAT WELL LIKED, I FOUND IT WONDERFUL. DREW BARRYMORE IS AMAZING. IT'S A GOOD BELIEVABLE STORY, FINE PERFORMANCES BY ALL. WELL WRITTEN. I AM A BIG FAN OF PENNY MARSHALLS DIRECTION, AND ONCE AGAIN THINK SHE DOES A GREAT JOB. I LOVED THIS FILM.
Here's some film ratings.

Riding in Cars with Boys

This movie could be the survival guide to white trash women everywhere, but I really to like this movie even though I am not white trash.
Drew takes on a journey that starts with a mistake of getting hooked up with a loser and gets knocked up. Trying to do the right thing, the get married and it goes downhill from there. She can't finish school because of the baby, honey goes from one job to the next trying to make ends meat and if he would stop drinking there probably would have been money and food. After seeing her life go from good to gutter, all she wants to do is finish school, get a job and try to pull herself on to the street at least and having a kid to care for doesn't help.

So, that is the movie in a nutshell. What I like about it is the fact that it seems like a true story. Nothing seems to have been taken to an extreme to be unrealistic. It is not a happy story and you don't feel good about the movie and the characters. The movie does drag a bit in the middle, but leads you to the emotional end of the movie that will have you and your box of kleenex working over time as Drew and her grown-up son hash out his childhood, which is all worth it. I recommend this movie to chicks...
