An interesting and simple movie. Some over-acting but I didn't mind.

It would have been a much better movie if they didn't give it away in the previews, a full month before it came out.

My favorite Ron Howard film.
Which is saying something, cause he's the director of everything safe and mainstream.

This is a very good movie, even though the villain did some really, really stupid things in the end (which can be looked at as a Deus ex machina).

Ransom (1996)

So I finally got around to seeing this movie. I've wanted to see it for years but just never got around to seeing it but I was not disappointed. Of course Mel Gibson was one of my favorite actors of the 90s (and late 80s) so one would expect me to enjoy this movie. It's not really and action movie per se but it's a thriller all the way through and the action does pick up in the end. I'm not sure if I could agree with the methods that Gibson's character goes about doing in the film but it is still a movie and a very entertaining one at that. The last 30 minutes were just plain awesome. I even had an exam early in the morning and couldn't turn it off, instead just sacrificing an extra hour of sleep that I could have had.
