This film is just a typical romantic comedy, nothing great, nothing bad, just there. Jennifer Aniston is better than usual, the cast is fine, just nothing outstanding. It is enjoyable, I will hardly remember it in a few days but for a few hours I liked it.
I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.

Palmetto, directed by Volker Schlondorff, is a failed piece of film noir starring Woody Harrelson, Elizabthe Shue and Gina Gershon. Avoid this movie.

Picture Perfect, directed by Glenn Gordon Caron, is a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston, Jay Mohr, Christian Slater and Olympia Dukakis. It plays mpre like a sitcom than a feature film, making for a rather forgettable film.

Pretty Woman, directed by Garry Marshall, is a blockbuster romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Gere stars as Edward Lewis, a wealthy corporate raider, and Roberts stars as Vivian Ward, a free spirited prostitute. Soon Gere makes Roberts his Cinderella.

Some people absolutely loathe this film while many consider it to be a classic of the romance genre. I think it's just an average movie. Obviously the plot is stretched (IRL a man like Lewis would not fall for Vivian) and the film does trivialize prostitution, but this isn't a "message" movie. Roberts and Gere have pretty good chemistry here, and it's certainly a watchable film, although it can't compete with Before Sunrise or When Harry Met Sally in the romance genre.

The Pelican Brief, directed by Alan J. Pakula, is a political thriller based on a John Grisham novel. The film fails due to over-plotting and self-importance. The film does have a stellar cast of Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts, John Heard, Sam Shepard, Stanley Tucci and Robert Culp.

Here's another film rating.
It's a cute flick. Jennifer is Jennifer. Jay Mohr is sweet. Kevin Bacon is pretty hot. The story is slightly/somewhat interesting.

Something to watch on a rainy night when you want to stay in and it's coming on TNT.

Spoilers most likely to follow...

I only saw this movie most recently, so after the whole Friends Finale, etc., this may affect my views.

Actors:
Jennifer is pretty funny as Kate. Not as flaky or hand wavy as Rachel/Friends, but same comic timing.
Jay Mohr. I have to say it's actually kinda nice to seem him as a sweet guy. Until now, I've only seen him as the shark in Jerry McGuire and other roles where he's just not too nice. He has the intense "in-love look" down pretty good.
Kevin Bacon is pretty good as the bad boy, stud muffin.

For some reason, i thought Jay and Kevin would be doing the other's roles in this movie.

Premise: Typical "misunderstanding leads to major (financial and career) gains but in order to obtain what is most important (such as love) the misunderstanding must be exposed" general plot (often employed by many romantic comedies and the entire Three's Company Series). The picture twist was pretty interesting. The unbelievable part is that Nick becomes a TV worthy hero, and "THIS" is the reason the boss has to meet him.

Overall, I thought it was a cute chick flick, worth at least watching if coming on tv at a convenient time of the day .
A charming light-hearted movie that will entertain you for 102 minutes. This movie was definetly pretty cheesy at times, but I gave it a gift ratiing of seven out of ten because my second favorite actess is in it, Jennifer Aniston. She's great!
The movie was funny, but it started slow. I didn't like Jeniffer Aniston in the leading role, the movie could have been better with a different actress. The movie was saved by all the supporting actors and actresses in the supporting roles, especially Jay Mohr and Kevin Bacon who had a terrific performance.
