Best apocalyptic |space-vampire|zombie movie of all times!
Lifeforce (1985)
Genre: Horror | Sci-Fi | Thriller
iMDB Rating: 6,0/10 from 10 028 users
Director: Tobe Hooper
Starring: Steve Railsback, Peter Firth, Frank Finlay
Plot:
A space shuttle mission investigating Halley’s Comet brings back a malevolent race of "space vampires" who transform most of London’s population into "zombies". The only survivor of the expedition and British authorities attempt to capture a mysterious but beautiful alien woman who appears responsible.
Best British apocalyptic lifeforce-sucking-space-vampire-cum-zombie movie ever. Tobe Hooper is still the king. And what the hell happens to Patrick Stewart in the helicopter scene anyway? Did he turn into blood-man, or jello-man?
Honestly, I hated this movie. I thought that Lifeforce had poor acting, horrible visual effects, even for '85, abnd an even worse plot and script. The only thing that made me give this movie a 1 instead of a 0 was Mathilda May. She was really hot.

I have to admit I was intrigued when I first watched this one, and not just by the fact that the lead villainess walks around nude most of the film. The idea put forth that Earth's vampire legends came from these space beings that travel with the comet was interesting. It was one part of the story that I enjoyed, or at least found interest in.

The effects, both out in space and with the "plague zombies" were well done as well. The actors held their own through what had to be some difficult scenes. The soundtrack is ok.
A very curious mix of multiple movie genre's and it doesn't quite work. It goes in so many directions. The special effects range from poor to good, as does the acting. The whole film is just too much.
