This is a good movie and gets better every time I see it. Great effects, good acting and lots of action. 8/10
My favorite movie of all time. Hope that independence day forever part 1 and 2 are just as good, after all they have been working on a script for 18 years.
one of those movies anyone can watch anytime
Wanna wish all a HaPpY and SAFE 4th of July ... and with what a great movie to watch too *.*.*Independence Day *.*.* is a 1996 American military science fiction film about an alien invasion of Earth. The narrative focuses on a desperate group of people who converge in the Nevada desert and, along with the rest of the human population, participate in a last-chance counterattack on July 4, the same date as the Independence Day holiday in the United States. It was directed by German director Roland Emmerich, who co-wrote the script with producer Dean Devlin.
This comes out next week! Woot! Can't wait to see it. Err....wait a sec...

If you can get past the U.S. is number one propaganda plastered throughout this flick, you'll find a good, not too deep movie. Aliens suddenly decide our planet is its next target for necessary resources. A number of cities are toast and its up to a collaberation of characters to kick some ass like only we human beings can. I can handle that. Plus, the site of the white house exploding was just awesome.
The movie is probably more of a guy flick because of it's action sequences and special effects. But the interaction between Will Smith-Jeff Goldblum-Judd Hirsch is actually quite funny, as is any scene with Randy Quaid.
One of the few flaws in this movie is trying to buy into Bill Pullman as President Of The United States.

A cool Sci-Fi/comedy/action movie. The effects are good for 1996. I found it was a bit long and bit cheesier than I had remembered before. Still a good movie, it will always be one of ym favorite lazy night movies. It's good to watch when you just want to sit and have a good time watching a movie. 8 on 10.
