Maybe it's because this movie is so beyond my generation but I found very little humor in this movie.
Probably one of the funniest movies ever made. Movies like "Blazing Saddles" put the "American Pie" saga to shame...well, at least moreso than the films did on their own. This movie is one of the best things to come out of the 1970's, right up there with myself.
A classic Mel Brooks spoof movie. It's the outright stupid comedy combined with some oddly realistic racism of the time. If you've ever seen one of the movies that it is spoofing you'll find it even funnier.
Over 35 years has passed since the making of this movie and YET nothing even comes close to it's Genius...This is the funniest movie of all time. and no doubts the funniest movie Mel Brooks has made and been in since the Nutty prof... Must see for anyone who loves comedy movie's ......

"Blazing Saddles" turns out to be a mix bag of legendary comedic acting and a lot of hit and miss jokes. First off, Harvey Korman gives one of the most rediculous bad guy preformances ever, even upstaging Gene Wilder's character. As far as the comedy goes, it can be either damn funny or horrible to an epic degree. It's easy to appreciate and enjoy "Blazing Saddles" as long as you go in with the foreknowledge that at least once your going to be subject to a display of mass farting for comedic effect.
edgy comedy at the time but it works well for mel brooks. i can be honest and say i miss mel brooks and his genius works

Though it is slightly dated, Blazing Saddles never ceases to amuse me. A great comedy by Mel Brooks.
Over-rated for sure. The pros: Good for a few laugh out loud moments and mindless immature laughter. But a comedy classic? I don't think so. The cons: The blatant racism and use of the word nigger actually tires after a while. While I did enjoy it I may have been jaded by the high expectations I had for it. Its biggest flaw is that it is simple lacking any good plot. Gene wilder and Mel Brooks are fun to watch, but unfortunately are not enough to carry this film. Does it deserve to still be enjoyed today? yes. should it be labeled a comedy top ten classic? definitely not. Rent it, just to say you saw it. but don't take it any further than that. In its credit, I about died laughing when I saw that big dude punch the horse in the face and knocked it over.
I find this to be kind of a pioneer of many of the random comedies that you see today. This was before all the politically correct garbage that you see today. Race comedy shouldn't be something to avoid because sertain groups are easily offended yet when they do it, it isn't made into a thing. Yes we know I am talking about black people. They make everything into a huge deal and it drives me nuts. But this movie was awesome and is awesome.
3/4--Very: rude, crude, mean, and halarious... Actually one of the funniest movies ever made.
