)oupla Thanks for sharing this :)

SIDNEY POITIER, AS USUAL, GIVES A VERY CLASSY AND SUBTLE PERFORMANCE. ELIZABETH HARTMAN DOES A FINE JOB AND WAS OSCAR NOMINATED. THE STAND OUT PERFORMANCE, HOWEVER, COMES FROM SHELLEY WINTERS WHO IS INCREDIBLE AND VERY DESERVING OF THE OSCAR SHE WON. A FINE FILM.

This movie is about a blind girl who's family life is horrible. Her mom is a drunken whore who treats her like shit and her grandpa is just a drunk. One day when she gets her grandpa to take her to the park she meets a man who realizes how horrible her life is and he begins to befriend her. The problem is the girl falls in love with him. Because no one has ever treated her that nice. Another problem is that he is black and she is white. Her mom won't allow her to be friends with anyone black. The whole movie is about her struggle to gain any type of independence.
The performances by all involved are very good. I also thought for the time period the movie was pretty brave. The movie kept me very interested throughout so I definitely recommend it.
I loved the story and the actors where amazing
Sydney Pollack is a classic Hollywood Icon, his Legendary work lives up to it's hype in the Hit film: A Patch of Blue.

It's By far 1 of my favorite movies in B&W, there's something to say about the blossoming chemistry between Pollack and Winters. It was Unconditional, and unbiast. There friendship could with stand the times of Hardship and proved that nothing could gets in the way of true love.
