Agreed! It seems that in the 60's and 70's, Akira Kurosawa's masterpieces (their Hollywood versions) were all that kept the 'Western' genre alive (following the 'John Wayne period'). Both - Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars and Kurosawa's Yôjinbô are absolute gems and classics!
One of the best classic westerns of the 1960's. Clint Eastwood had been in other films, but this was his real first break in movies.
I'll always rate this film 10/10.
Anyone who agrees should also look up the Japanese Film "Yôjinbô" which this film was based on, another great classic.
