@SgtDoss @c-beams My favorite Firefly reference from Castle came in the episode that guest starred Jayne (Adam Baldwin). Castle was slipping on a brown jacket and Baldwin looked at him and said "That's a mighty fine coat!"
@SgtDoss @Sunstroker
I caught one of those references from Fillion as Hermes in Percy Jackson...something tongue in cheek about an excellent show so of course it was cancelled.
At comic con he's said Firefly was the best job he ever had and he'd love to pick it up again.
Maybe there's a chance, at least a slim one.
@Sunstroker Even in movies where he appear he drops firefly references.I think he's trying to get someone to pick it back up.
Definitely one of the greatest sci-fi series ever to appear on TV, and one of the most head-scratching early cancellations of any TV show in any genre.
On a side note, Nathan Fillion's current show, Castle, routinely drops little references to Firefly/Serenity. I think one of the writers is part of the Browncoat underground resistance. ;-)
@raginmjolnir I saw the one about Shepherd Book on amazon, but I haven't had the chance to buy them yet. I heard that they end the stories fairly well with almost all questions answered.
@LesbeHonest
I only just came across your comment as I came for one of my regular re-watches, and could've sworn that it'd been mentioned before... There were some graphic novels of some sort, which I've never found actually, which centered on particular characters. I heard about one done for Shepherd Book, and another for Inara the companion. I'd like to know their stories myself, but never did find them on a rack anywhere.
A new Brown Coat, shiny! I believe Firefly will become the new Star Trek. Underappreciated during its original run, but after decades of new fans and unwavering support from old fans, the series will eventually be rebooted.
@meeksbam Yeah! It was amazing. I was pretty upset about certain deaths though.... and I was really hoping that to find out about the Shepherds past.
@Khaleesi did you ever watch the actual movie SERENITY.... it is sooo good!
I know I may be a bit behind everyone else, but I just watched this whole season on Netflix, and the movie on here. I have to say I can't believe it was canceled. It was such an interesting show. I am still a bit confused on a few things. Even though this show was only one season, it is definitely worth watching. It's one of the best shows I've seen really.
